'Super Mini' Tsukeshime Daiko

Our own special design. Despite its cute size this is a fully functional, heavy and rugged drum. We use thick steer hide stitched over hand forged 5/8 inch solid steel rings (comparable to our traditional #4 size Shime Daiko) and a turned body of laminated staves of select Birch hardwood.

With a narrow throat and a sharp bearing edge the 'Super mini' is capable of a very high pitch even at low tension. The sound is dryer and has more of a 'pop' than our traditional Shime Daiko. 

Designed to add a new sound timbre for taiko ensembles and especially taiko soloists without taking up extra space.
